AWS & GCP Consulting Engagement Models

ARCO (ARCloudOps), operated by ARCLOUDOPS LLC, provides AWS and Google Cloud consulting for teams in the US and EU. Start with an assessment, a defined implementation project or scoped ongoing support. Agree the workload, deliverables, access, acceptance checks, fees and coverage for your environment before delivery begins.

Define the scope before the price

Share the operating problem, cloud environment, workload boundaries, constraints and the outcome you need. Request a proposal that states engineering fees, expected duration, customer responsibilities, exclusions and acceptance checks. Cloud consumption, licenses and third-party services should be identified separately from engineering work.

A public price range cannot establish the cost of an unreviewed environment. Compare proposals using the same workload and deliverables, including assumptions that could change the estimate.

Assessment: establish a decision-ready baseline

Identify the accounts, projects, services and questions to include. Begin with the billing exports, architecture information or scoped read-only access needed for the agreed review. Sensitive records stay within an explicitly agreed evidence-handling process.

The output should connect a finding to its evidence, business impact, priority, recommended action and accountable owner. For a cost review, agree the cost basis and comparison window. For security or reliability work, record the control or operating requirement and how a remediation could be validated.

Implementation: deliver an approved change

Turn the selected findings into an agreed backlog with dependencies, named owners and acceptance criteria. Confirm the repositories, permitted actions, test environment, production approval, change window and rollback before changes are applied.

Agree the handover: architecture and configuration records, relevant code, operating instructions and validation evidence. For a migration, include cutover and recovery decisions. Define any stabilization period or follow-on responsibility in the proposal.

Ongoing support: agree the operating boundary

Coverage is based on client requirements and mutually agreed terms. Specify the services covered, hours and time-zone overlap, escalation contacts, severity definitions and response commitments. Confirm incident ownership and what happens outside the agreed coverage.

Agree how planned engineering work, cost reviews, security findings and operational incidents enter the backlog. Set the change-approval path and review cadence. Acknowledging an incident and resolving it are different commitments and should be defined separately.

Commercial and procurement questions

Confirm contracting details, billing currency, payment schedule, applicable taxes, expenses, tool charges and any data-processing terms during scoping. A US or EU buyer focus does not establish an office, local staffing or a data-residency commitment in each country.

Bring the questions your security and procurement teams need answered. Do not put credentials, patient records, payment data or private billing exports into the public inquiry form. Agree how any sensitive evidence will be exchanged after the initial conversation.

Inspect comparable work and its limits

Use the published case studies to inspect the operating problem, delivery role, technical scope and supplied evidence. GoCareFlow describes security-readiness and landing-zone work; AttunePractice covers a healthcare migration; BeyondOne describes an owner-reported AWS and GCP savings outcome. These examples do not set a guaranteed result for another environment.

Engagement questions

How much does an AWS or GCP consulting engagement cost?

ARCO scopes the environment, deliverables, dependencies and acceptance checks before proposing fees and duration. Ask the proposal to identify cloud charges, third-party tools, billing currency and payment terms separately.

Can ARCO assess the environment and implement the recommendations?

Yes. Assessment and implementation can be scoped together or separately. Production changes require agreed permissions, customer approval, testing, rollback and acceptance checks.

What support hours does ARCO provide?

Support hours, time-zone overlap, escalation and response commitments are based on client requirements and mutually agreed terms. Confirm the covered services and operating responsibilities in the engagement scope.

What should I send for the first conversation?

Send the cloud provider, operating problem, workload context, constraints and desired outcome. Use the public form for a summary; agree a secure exchange process before sharing private exports, credentials or regulated data.
